This is our new address - 8544 Greenwood Avenue North, Seattle. These numbers are about the only thing we are not changing in our new location!
When we first found our new home for A Muse, we were so excited because we thought that we could just move right in. Ha! Nothing is quite so simple, especially when you factor in my perfectionist husband. LOL!
It started with the floors. There was icky, old (not to mention smelly) carpet on the floor. We decided it had to go. This meant ripping out the old carpet, of course - this wasn't too hard. However, the last carpet installers laid down so much carpet glue that we had to smooth it out before laying the new carpet. After a few hours and little progress, my husband decides he can rip up the linoleum underneath much quicker. It starts out pretty easy but 1/3 of the way through (at this point he was committed to getting it off) it got very, very hard. Again, lots & lots of adhesive. Now we have an almost bare concrete floor - a HUGE temptation to now have a cool stained concrete floor - like Starbucks! However, we have lots & lots of adhesive to remove still. A day later, with lots of messy chemicals my husband is thrilled that the floor is bare. Now we're ready for the stain - at least *we* think we're ready. Not so! The floor still had some kind of "finish" to it and would not take the stain. Now we have to SAND the floor. Talk about messy. Heidi's husband, Chris sanded concrete ALL day! Poor guy! My husband sanded ALL night. The next day, after some serious vacuuming, we are ready for the stain. Two days later, we had a cool stained floor that was ready for us to now start building upon.
The floor story pretty much sums up every aspect of remodelling our space. The good news is that we are soooooooooo close to being done! Just need to get our shelving up (which is being delivered tomorrow) and install our lighting.
For those of you that participated in our anniversary sale - thank you! We still have over 50 orders to process but we are waiting on a few items from our manufacturer that should arrive today. We are working just as fast as we can to get your order to you. If you provided us with your email addres on your order and your order has shipped you should receive a notification from USPS that your package is on its way. If not, it means we are still processing it and it should be there really soon!
Have a beautiful day!
Linda
