Just poppin' in to say "hi" from Bark Lake. My mom has DSL so when I pop in for a visit I can jump online for a few minutes (IF I can get my husband to stop searching for the *perfect* boston whaler that is within an 8-hour drive from where we are! Yesterday he asked me if New Jersey was too far - YES!!!)
We have been having specatacular weather - HOT but humid. We don't mind the humidity because we can just jump in the lake whenever we get too hot. Did I mention, the lake temperature is almost 80F.
It is *very* difficult to get any work done on our cottage because we can only get there by boat and have no electricity. This year, however, we hit the jackpot! My cousin, one of two contractors on the lake, really came through for us. Thanks, Dick! We are enjoying our new deck and eating area. He even installed a new window and pine boards in our bedroom. Splendiferous! I know, this doesn't sound like much but there has been NO work done on our cottage since my dad & uncles built it 40 years ago!
We have had a couple of spectacular thunderstorms since we arrived! I sure do love Bark Lake thunderstorms - when the thunder booms, it sounds like the cottage is going to crack in two. For newbies it can be a real shocker. Gotta love the Canadian shield - pure rock!
Back to the boonies...
