VMAA - Challenge #2
The 2nd challenge for VMAA (see earlier post for the 411 on this fun event!) is by Geeta. Her challeng is to create a "masculine card". Now this is something I struggle with and I know a lot of us stampers do.
I think I forgot to mention in my earlier post that there will be PRIZES for participating in VMAA over at www.amuseaddicts.com.
To get inspiration for this challenge, I flipped through the A Muse catalog to get a good look at all our stamps first. I noticed that we have a lot of "girly" images and not so many images that are suitable for men. Looks like an opportunity! Ding! Ding!
I decided that to use the A Muse Drum set for my card. Most of my guy friends were in some kind of garage band in their younger days so this image jumped out at me.
Here are my "rules" for adult male cards:
colors: browns, blues, greens, orange, yellows & reds
sparkle - none or *very* limited
scallop punches - in general no but sometimes yes
embellishments - some hardware is OK (brads & eyelets)
ribbon - stripes and solids ok with knots (no bows)
shape scissors - scallops no, pinking yes.
What do YOU think? I would LOVE to hear your thoughts on this challenging subject matter.
Stay tuned... another challenge card is coming!

This card is awesome Linda! I *love* making guy cards! And I find it really easy to make them with A Muse stamps, since there are so many that are perfect for men. I use the recliner, the slippers, the grill, the surfer, the rock star, the golfer, the mower, the jeep, any of the fishing ones, the list goes on and on! I agree with your guy card rules too! :)

I struggle with cards for guys too. Especially adult & teens. Little guys are not too hard. Thanks for this idea. I will have to visit the Paper Garden Boutique and get these stamps.

Love it! I had the same thought as DH was a musician (of sorts), but couldn't come up with anything I hadn't already done before. I will definitely be casing this! TFS.
