I'm back from my trip to Quebec. It was a *busy* week but we accomplished a lot. The weather was not very nice - 45 to 50F the whole time and LOTS of rain. And, the blackflies were baaaad! If you have not experienced blackflies, trust me... you do NOT want to. They like to nibble your neck, behind your ears, ankles and knuckles. They will bite you right through your clothes and do not care about bug spray!
I thought you might enjoy seeing some of the photos I took while I was there. As I said, the weather was icky and so the photos are a little grey.
The churches in Quebec are beautiful! This church is in Ste.-Agathe-des-Monts. This is the front.
And, this is the back. {I prefer the stone on the back!}
Here is a photo taken in the village of Ste. Agathe.
This shop had an adorable window and sign. Sadly, they are closing later this month.
There are many religious statues and crosses adorning the towns in the Laurentian mountains. I like the halo of lights around this statue's head and the Quebec flag in the background.
The town of Barkmere is a very special town. My mother's family has lived here since before the town was incorporated.
The lake looks so inviting, doesnt' it? Luckily, the sun came out for a few hours on my last day.
My grandmother ran the General Store in the town of Barkmere for most of her adult life with the help of her 12 children. My aunt continues to operate the store today providing essential supplies for the cottagers on the lake. This old sign stands in defiance of the Quebec language laws (signs may only be posted in French). There have been many offers to purchase this sign and I'm glad that my aunt refuses to part with it!
I hope you've enjoyed these scenes from Quebec. We'll be back soon with more crafty-goodness!

Beautiful photos - thanks for sharing such lovely glimpses. Glad to hear you had a good trip!

I've never been to Quebec but hope to visit some day. Thank you for sharing your photos with us. I agree - I like the stone that was used on the back of the church. I like the contrast between the dark stone and the lighter mortar.
