On Monday you saw some fabulous designs from Lisa, including a couple of cute little cards that were a bit outside the box! I know so many of you loved her mushroom trio design, so today I'm gonna' show you how she made it!
You'll need a few basic supplies: ink, ribbon, cardstock die-cut or cut into the shape of your choice, something to color the mushrooms with (we used our trusty Copic markers), dimensional glaze, adhesive, and foam tape.
Once you've stamped your image, color.
Then add a fun dotted border with a fine-line black pen.
The card goes together like a little book. The front cover and back are joined together by paper folded accordian style. To make the inside, simply cut a piece of cardstock to 10" x 2ΒΌ" (or to whatever size fits the paper you've cut). Using a scoring tool, score every 2" and fold as shown.
Using a strong adhesive, attach one side of your accordian fold to your cover ...
Your end result will look something like this! Once it's all together, use foam tape to mount the mushroom image to the front cover. You'll want to put your tape at the top and bottom of the mushroom piece to allow room for ribbon to pass underneath. That's how it's held together in the end.
Run your ribbon underneath the mushroom image on the cover and around the back. Then tie!
A look at it from the side ...
As a finishing touch, add a bit of dimensional glaze over the mushrooms!
How much fun is this to make?! Not to mention all the cute stuff you could put inside! Photos, notes ... whatever you can think up!
Over on the Hero Club Blog today Lisa's sharing an instructional video, so be sure to check that out as the A Muse & Hero Arts Designer Swap Week continues! See you tomorrow!
