Project Hero Mail Challenge results!

Last fall, A Muse launched Operation Hero Mail and teamed up with Operation Troop Aid to put a hand made card of appreciation in the hands of as many deployed military men and women as possible.   

It was with this in mind that A Muse instructor Geeta Suggs decided to organize a challenge on our A Muse lounge that would generate LOTS of cards using the A Muse Hero Mail stamp set!  The "Make 'em Smile: Project Hero Mail challenge" - which started in January and wrapped up this week - did exactly that!   

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who participated and to Geeta for her efforts in organizing this event!  Together, a total of 1001 cards were created - WOW!  Here is a photo of the whole batch of cards!  Amazing!  It's humbling to imagine the smiles that these will bring to 1001 deployed military men and women!       

 

And there were three people who each contributed 98 or more cards!

CFC - Winner #1

On behalf of the entire A Muse crew, I would like to thank all of our blog readers and friends for embracing the A Muse Cards for a Cause program, benefiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  We have received, many, many cards and we still have 28 more days {and $205} in prizes to go!

Coincidentally, the cards that she sent in were made with one of our Cards for a Cause Kits.  She created a few variations... here is my favorite!  I like how she has one of the butterflies flying off... the buttefly trail was made by piercing the paper. 

It is fun that Corinne's cards are made from one of our CFC kits...  however, you are welcome to submit any and all cards that fit our guidelines (see the original CFC post here.)  Winners are chosen at random. 

Now here's a fun idea.  Jen ["jrippy" at SCS] held a Cards for a Cause P*A*R*T*Y.  She and her friends got together to stamp and made over 60 cards to submit to our Cards for a cause program.  Yay, Jen, and many thanks for your efforts!!  Your gift will bring smiles to many children!  Here's a link to see some of the cards... fun!!

Cards for a Cause

In honor of World Card Making Day on October 6th, A Muse is thrilled to announce a wonderful new program called:

"Cards for a Cause".

The goal of our Cards for a Cause program is to encourage stampers, like you, to make cheerful cards that can be donated to either a charity near you that will put them to good use, or send them to A Muse and we will donate them to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

A Muse designers have created some fun card kits for you to purchase.  Each Cards for a Cause kit provides you with all the supplies to make 10 cards.  Each kit offers you a personal savings of 15% and A Muse will donate 25% of the purchase price to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  You are welcome to keep the cards, donate them to a local charity or send them to A Muse to be donated to St. Judes.

A Muse will be collecting Cards for a Cause through October 31st, 2007.  We will ship all cards received to St. Jude's in early November.  We are offering fun prize drawings for Cards for a Cause that are submitted to us. 

Beginning Monday, October 1st, we will draw a random winner each Monday in October from all the cards received.  Winners will receive a $35 A Muse gift certificate.  We will also randomly pick one Grand Prize winner who will receive a $100 A Muse gift certificate.  Grand Prize drawing will take place on Thursday, November 9th.

Please adhere to the following guidelines when submitting cards for this program:

1. Submissions must include one appropriately-sized envelope for each card submitted.
2. Cards should be cheerful in nature.
3. Cards need not include stamps from A Muse - all entries are eligible for prizes!
4. Be sure to include your contact information in the envelope with your cards - do not include this information on the back of your cards!
5. Please do not include tiny embellishments that could cause a choking hazard for small children.
6. You are welcome to submit as many cards as you like!
7. International submissions are welcome.
8. Cards must be postmarked on or before October 31, 2007, A Muse is not responsible for lost entries.
