One of my favourite neighbourhoods in Seattle is Fremont. It is just a few miles from my house and from the A Muse retail shop.
Fremont is filled with fun little boutiques (read about them out online) , restaurants & cafés and is also home to the Fremont Sunday Market. I thought my mum might enjoy a visit to the market to snoop around a bit.

Yesterday was quite very grey & cold here in Seattle. My mom doesn't like the cold so I didn't really have time to browse. I did spot a few fun things on our excursion.
The market has changed quite a bit since my last visit. There were not as many "junk" sellers as there used to be. There were, however, some great food vendors (wood-oven pizza!) and some interesting crafty vendors. One gal selling yarn that she recycles from old sweaters (I googled her to no avail but this link has some good info on yarn recycling). Another vendor was selling homespun local yarn that was positively yummy!
I could have spent hours looking through all the drawers of type at this booth...
These chairs remind me of my friend's kitchen growing up where we spent many hours preparing for school debates...
Too bad I already own three old typewriters... this one was a beauty!
They did some major remodelling in Fremont a few years ago. One of the big changes was moving the Red Door Restaurant to a new location. This was one of the first places my husband took me to eat when we began dating. The food is good... if you like pub-style food. It's easy to find... just look for the Red door! J
When you're in Fremont, don't miss the troll under the Aurora bridge. And, if you have time for dinner, this is one of my favourite Thai restaurants.
